Terms of Service

The terms for using Markyard while it is in early access, including how AI output, artwork and billing actually work today.

Agreement and who may use it

These terms govern your use of Markyard, an application built for print shops to turn customer inquiries into quote-ready jobs. By creating an account or otherwise using Markyard, you agree to them. Markyard is intended for business use by print shops and the people they authorise, not for personal or consumer use.

The service

Markyard reads a customer inquiry, extracts what is being asked for, checks it against products you enter yourself, evaluates any attached artwork, and prepares a draft quote in your tone for you to review. Markyard is in early access: features described on this site, including Gmail connection, are still being built, and functionality, pricing and the interface may change materially before a general release. We will tell you when something you rely on is changing.

Accounts and security

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us, for keeping your login credentials confidential, and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us immediately, through the contact page, if you believe your account has been accessed without authorisation.

Acceptable use

You may not use Markyard to:

  • Break the law, or ask it to produce content that does
  • Interfere with the service, or attempt to access another organisation's data
  • Reverse engineer, scrape or resell the service without our written permission
  • Upload artwork or content you do not have the right to use

Your content and data

You own the data you put into Markyard: your product catalogue, your prices, the inquiries that reach your mailbox, and the quotes generated from them. We do not claim ownership of it. We use it only to provide the service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy. If you stop using Markyard, you remain the owner of that data and can ask us to export or delete it, as described under Termination below.

AI output and approval

Every quote, extracted detail and reply draft that Markyard produces is a suggestion, not a finished decision. A human at your organisation must review and approve it before anything is sent to a customer: Markyard is built so that nothing goes out automatically, and that requirement is enforced at the database level, not only by the screen you see. Because you are the one who clicks approve, you are responsible for what is actually sent, including its accuracy, its pricing and its tone. AI-extracted details can be wrong, for example a misread quantity or size, so check a draft before you approve it rather than after.

Artwork and redrawing

Markyard evaluates the artwork attached to an inquiry and tells you what it can honestly promise: a vector file, or a clean, high-resolution raster, can be reproduced faithfully at any size. A low-quality raster, one that is small, blurry or full of compression artefacts, cannot: enlarging it does not recover detail that was never captured. In that case, Markyard redraws it instead of pretending to upscale it, and that redrawn file is a new file, clearly marked as redrawn rather than as the customer's original. You must check a redrawn design yourself before it goes to press. If it is wrong and it reaches print, that job is your responsibility, not Markyard's.

Fees and billing

Billing is not active yet. Markyard is not currently charging for the service, and no payment details are collected through the application. When paid plans launch, we will state the price clearly and get your agreement before charging you anything.

Availability

Markyard is in early access, and we do not guarantee any particular level of uptime during this period. The service can be unavailable for maintenance, a bug, or a dependency, Supabase, Vercel or Google, being unavailable itself. We do not currently operate a formal incident response process or public status monitoring; both are on our list to build. See our Security page for the honest state of that, and our status page for the current state of each part of the product.

Termination and data export

You may stop using Markyard and close your account at any time, by reaching us through the contact page. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or that we reasonably believe is being used to break the law. On request, we will give you a reasonable window to export your data before deleting it.

Liability

Markyard is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, during this early access period. To the extent permitted by law, Markyard is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including a job printed from an AI-extracted detail or a redrawn design that a human approved without catching an error. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under German or European Union law, for example liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence.

Governing law

Placeholder: governing law and jurisdiction have not been decided yet. This section needs a specific country and court, or an arbitration clause, named here before these terms are treated as final. Until the owner fills this in, no governing law is asserted.

Changes to these terms

We will update these terms as Markyard moves out of early access, and we will update the date at the top of this page when we do. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will tell you rather than only editing the page.
